Gwen Skin for Logo Head by L'Etre Review

So, I'm gonna go ahead and say THIS is why people shouldn't overly enhance images:
By: David Cooper | L'Etre
Cause we think we are getting Kylie Jenner.
Instead, we get this:
Not that this $899L face isn't gorgeous ... it IS! At a distance.
Up close, you can see the imperfections:
They eyebrows appear to be pasted from ... somewhere else. Hardly any blending here.
The PORES under the eyes ABRUPTLY stop above the cheekbones.
The lips also look pasted from else where onto this skin.
I'm looking less and less like the Kylie Jenner looking photo from above ... hell, even the AD itself:
This is the AD and the HUD (hence the eyebrow colors) which omits the flaws circled above.
In case you forgot:

Lord, them eyebrows, under eye and lips killing me and not in a good way.
But you know what?
I could have dealt with that.
The NAIL in the coffin was the customer service ...

All right, so here is the deal.
So after reading the creator, Dᴀᴠɪᴅ Cᴏᴏᴘᴇʀ's profile where he basically states he's too good to handle his business matters by writing: "I won't answer any NC/IM personally ... please drop a notecard to Melissa.Hawks" I contacted her with two note-cards:
"hello I have purchased: (Transaction #s) and I have clicked the lipstick appliers many times and nothing happens.
I have loaded the OMEGA HUD just in case, still nothing happens.
These colors I purchased do not apply to the lips of Gwen.
Is there a mistake I am making?"
Because the damn lipstick I bought SEPARATELY ($99L EACH) with the skin doesn't load on the mesh head.
On ANY mesh head that I own, for that matter (I have OMEGA appliers for every mesh head I own).
So if the Gwen Skin, which is OMEGA, loads on all my other mesh faces, then why doesn't the lipstick?
Here is Melissa Hawks ever so helpful reply:
"[19:40] мelιѕѕα ανιαтιк мσяαиє (melissa Hawks): (Saved Wed Feb 10 13:33:36 2016)i have the same make up and skin appliers and never had issue with it u have the logo head and the omega tattoo/makeup layer and u need to wear that to make the make up work so i don't know what the issue would be.
Okay so basically she told me to do exactly what the hell I just said I already did ...
And how does it working for HER help me?
I just dropped $1,097L for something that I am so far HIGHLY unsatisfied with and/or doesn't work for me.
And she doesn't know what the issue is?
I just paid $1,097L for you to know what the issue is!
If it's user error, then I feel like the creator/customer service person that is representing the BRAND (L'Etre in this case) should tell me what the USER (me) is doing wrong so it can be rectified.
"Oh well, it works for me" isn't a $1,097L solution.
In addition to wasting money on make up appliers, when I run the Head and Body in Ultra, I have this LINE ACROSS MY NECK!
In LOW settings, it's hidden. But you don't know what settings other people are running and you wanna look like a boss in your new face, RIGHT?
So I dropped a second NC:
"Also, I am wearing Lara and the Gwen applier for LOGO and when Atmospheric Shaders is applied, I have a line on my neck between head and body ... is there something wrong that I am doing as well?"
She followed up via IM:
"[19:40] мelιѕѕα ανιαтιк мσяαиє (melissa Hawks): (Saved Wed Feb 10 13:33:36 2016)For the line i would try to go to graphics and uncheck the ambient occlusion. best regards
[19:40] мelιѕѕα ανιαтιк мσяαиє (melissa Hawks): (busy response): The Resident you messaged has activated CtrlAltStudio Viewer's 'autorespond mode' which means they have requested not to be disturbed.  Your message will still be shown in their IM panel for later viewing."
and I assume, turned on her away message?
I am a blogger. I run my images in ULTRA. I can't just "turn off ambient occlusion" ... it adds to the photo quality!
How is that a solution!?
I should be able to run my viewer in almost any windlight and/or setting and have seamless textures between the body and head.
I had to purchase a Maitreya body applier to match this head ($400L) and there is a LINE!
Again, if it's user error, EDUCATE THE USER!
Take a note from Mochi Milena (Pink Fuel) ... when I came back to Second Life after a 9 month hiatus, I couldn't figure how to apply her body applier to my SLink body/hands/feet and she told me to go get the SLink updates and THEN TELEPORTED TO MY HOUSE TO LOOK AT THE ISSUE AND OFFER HELP!
And she didn't leave until the issue was solved.
THAT is customer service.
She wasn't too damn busy that she had to send a minion.
Years ago, Vershel Iadyl (Vershe) released a skin that was NOT ready and after I called her out on it, she sent me a fixed, flawless copy.
THAT is customer service.
Basically, I can only wear this $1,497L set with friggin' turtle necks to hide the line and I'm just shit out of luck on the lipsticks.
L'Etre, step your game up and teach your reps to handle your business more effectively.
But, not that you give a hoot, you just made off with $1,500L of mine, so the joke is on me.
I'm a small time blogger, so my disappointment won't stretch very far, but regardless, I am a customer FIRST and that should mean something to a brand.
I know at least ONE reader out there has experienced crappola service and can relate, and if someone ELSE out there can tell me if it's user error and provide the service L'Etre reps CANNOT, I would forever be grateful.

all of his skins and lipsticks are botted anyway, there are a set of lipsticks i purchased that just so happen to be from THESHOPS with a few fucked up edits.

I totally understand the neckline thing and the bad CS thing, but as far as the other things - Logo appliers are difficult to do. I am not a big fan of his skins, but I do understand how difficult it is do make Logo appliers. I think you are nitpicking about the brows and the lips because of the bad CS.

Anonymous said...

I don't think she's nitpicking the brows and lips at all, they look really really badly edited.

Anonymous said...

You can clearly tell a lot of that is cut and pasted, then clone tooled/smudged. Most likely copy botted bits and pieces from other skins with bad blending.

I wear the catwa head. And I did have a problem with his skin. I bought it first because it was the first skin for the Jessica to come out, and until I found one that gave her bigger lips I settled for a while. The lips were an issue on the catwa. They were smudgy and appeared to be copy/pasted on there, without any formal editing of their own...

It pleases me to see others speaking out on their experience with this skin as well. Meanwhile on FB, because it's not anonymous and therefore they can't be seen speaking against shoddy workmanship, people are making it seem like my opinion is invalid or unwarranted. Perhaps because they're buddies with the creator. In addition to that, the creator is speaking against me on SOMEONE ELSE'S thread, instead of mine, the original poster, which shows his unprofessional and shady nature.
Thanks, readers for your feedback, whether good or bad!!! <3

i tried the demo and i felt his skins looked shitty.....i would not give him one red dime of my hard earned money for that trash but i have not had a problem with modish skins they are nice i love the textures

I agree with the over editing thing as a blogger myself I always stress to my sponsors that I do not edit my pictures beyond a simple cropping, I myself take pictures on ultra and if a sponsor released something that formed such a horrendous seam on ultra graphics I would tell them immediately and hope they fix it or I would not blog it at all cause I would not want my blog sullied by such an imperfect product. I blog to promote people and promoting things that I don't believe should be bought is just not my way.

Anonymous said...

Yes i found his skins are not like the pictures....i bough one recenltly and it was so pixelated and it's not nice....

And i saw he copyboted a lot of skins, including gwen aloix...it's sad :(

Anonymous said...

There is a demo to use and if u did try the demo and still buy it it's your fault. Demo's are made to try skins and if you don't like a skin than don't buy stuff from it. And for all the haters here the owner doesn't copybot skins i saw him made his skins so whatever u say u got no proof whatsoever. if u really wanna see copybots u can see on marketplace it's full of it of stolen skins. and about gwen aloix cmon her head looks like alien there are no resemblences whatsover only same thing is that an asian skin has been used. Have fun with the talking shit about it as u have nothing better to do in ur lives. And it's ultra that makes the neckcolor difference just so u know.

LOL whoever you are sent by David Cooper, you're beating a dead horse now.
Wipe the shit out of your nostrils and let him know you kissed his ass hardcore by leaving this comment on my blog.
Plus, demo or not, I'm at liberty to post about a shit product which is exactly what this was. The thing most upsetting was the customer service, as I've said plenty of times.
Okay goodbye now, ya goon.

He must change his name for David Booter, Everyone Know his skins is a mix of The shops skin with many others.

The Maitreya body has a shine to it. Turn that off. It will wreck havoc with the skins. I turn off the shine. And spending that much on skin is crazy. I got skin from Lumae and Belleza is one of my favs. I believe they have a Catwa head.

PS. Just thought you should know that reading your blog post was difficult with my eyesight because it was centered and in bold. If you left justify the post, it will be so much easier to read. The same with the comments. They were very difficult to read as well. JS

It's entirely disappointing that the majority support these mesh head/skin botters. Hell, there's no use in raising awareness, people could not care less if the sellers are botters as long as they are able to jump on the mesh head band wagon, in fact they even stick their heads up the asses of the likes of this guy, just wanting in on the craze. That chick making them cool concept (yet poor quality) heads, Lee Valentine was proven to be a botter on flickr and people are still sniffing her ass and acting like her best friend for a head, much similar circumstances with this guy. Sad as it is no one cares for quality anymore.

Honestly, i think the point people are missing here is that you had a very good reason to ask for help. Sure, they can say "You tried the demo!" but the lipsticks genuinely were not working. You can take blame for buying the skin after trying the demo, whatever. But the lipstick appliers not working is a genuine problem that should have been handled better. Telling a customer "it works for me" does not answer the question. As someone who works for a few stores, when people have problems with a hud, I send them instructions, screen shots, put the product on myself even and try it, etc etc until we figure it out. If we don't, I message the owner and ask them if they can look into it. Once we figure it out, I message the customer and let them know what to do or we refund them if the problem persists.

No offense, Melissa, but I am hoping you don't get paid for your CSR job. If you don't, then it would make sense for you to not be invested in the customers problems. But if you do, you are being paid to help them out.

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

First off, maybe if your shape wasn't so jacked up it may look better on you. Second off, You demoed this product before purchasing it..so you had ample time to see if you liked the skin or not. Thirdly and lastly...After looking at your regular av, you have no room to speack to anyone about how anything looks. If you are going to blog, make sure you are GOOD at it first..because darling..you obviously are not.

Anonymous said...

I don't believe that Lee Valentine is a botter. Can you link the Flickr page? The page that shows that Lee's a botter.

Anonymous said...

Certainly, it is pretty clear yet people ignore it and justify ignoring it by the fact a botter outed her, but dress it up as you will, that is a shops texture in her head, even on the animated image link which can't be photo edited. https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/134120675@N07/

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

Wow thanks for sharing that link! I didn't even know about this. No wonder she was so surly when speaking to me about something that had nothing to do with her. Maybe to got too close for comfort. 😀😀

Dahlia Endsleigh said...

You did demo, so why purchase after the demo? Did you look at the demo as close as the actual product? Demos are an exact replica as the product, so why still purchase it?

Prin Usbourne said...

Firstly, thanks for using a name.
Secondly, as I've stated several times, I could have lived with the fact the skin is useless for close ups.
The thing that triggered this whole ordeal was the lack of customer service and the fact the lip appliers I purchased separately do not work. The face is a lovely face from a distance. But I can't even wear the make up I purchased with it and then I reach out to customer service but they're brain dead and useless. I don't think you can sell an unfinished or poorly made product AND provide unsatisfactory service or shit that doesn't work. Hence, the post.
I hope I cleared this up for you and the next 20 people who will ask this very same question in the future.

That skin looks all around bad, imho. After demoing, there's no way I would have bought that. The lips are just bad, but the skin texture and abrupt change is killing me to even look at in those pictures. And I can understand there being a bit of a line on the neck to fix in editing based on graphics and lighting, totally normal drawback to mesh head/body, but to suggest that you should lower your photo quality to make their skin look better, is just absolutely laughable to me, and speaks volumes about their product. As for customer service, I saw Facebook posts defending the customer service and how hard she tried to help you and would have continued till you were happy. How does ending her oh so helpful tip to lower quality ended by "best regards" her best effort. I'm sorry, sure it sounded polite, but best regards is not something you generally say when you intend to continue a conversation or make sure the problem is resolved. I know that might be reading too much into it, but it's just not how you talk to a customer with an issue. That's like saying "forgive the fact we can't be used for high quality photos, and have a nice day." I don't think you're over reacting, and actually not being too harsh as I had read on facebook. I also saw you were way too zoomed in and that's not necessary. I don't think so. Had you been doing a HQ close up for a post or something, these things would be glaringly obvious still. You're a blogger relaying your experience. Word of mouth and customer service is very powerful in how a business is regarded. Creators should always be aware of that. How they handle situations and how people they hire handle situations can kind of make or break you in the word of mouth department.

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

OMG, THIS.
How does someone turning their away message on signify "yes, I want to continue helping you." Yeah know? Thank you for spotting that.
As for the FB post, I completely stopped following it because people were making it sound like I was after the creator for no reason. First of all, I wasn't after him to begin with. And the only reason I commented on the FB post originally is because after all this, the only thing he's stated was something negative about me to someone else. Not to me directly nor did he try to rectify anything. I'm not seeking a refund. I just wanted the product to work. And zoomed in or NOT, that's no excuse for shoddy work. LOL I didn't even see THAT post. I guess this spread further than I was even aware. But it's so good to know someone else can align their experience or thoughts with my own instead of just insulting and attacking. I appreciate your feedback on this. Be well, my dear ❤️💋💋

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

I'm not sure which coward said my shape was jacked up but it's a mesh body, you dolt. You're just just like this "botter" Lee Valentine, taking jabs out of defense for someone who simply didn't handle their service appropriately. I too will tell you to blow the chunks of shit out of your nose and wipe the stink off your lips from sucking Cooper and Valentines assholes so hard, you lowlife and if you're gonna talk crap, come at me with a name, you scary ass prick. LOOOL how does a mesh head, which shape can't be modified gonna be used as a reason that these textures are poor. I didn't even photograph the ear which now I should. Lemme guess, the shape of my EAR is at fault, too!? LOOOL you're by far the dumbest of the lot.
Lastly, blogging is a hobby, not my life's work nor do I get paid. Nor do I SELL it or my images for monetary gain LIKE YOUR BOY COOPER.
Therefore, I don't have to be good. Plus my sponsors think it's good enough or they wouldn't have added me. So have many seats and use spell check before trying to insult someone for speaking out about a bad product and badly received service.
Just read the comments. Most people agree with me and don't like Lee or David's work. You gonna wave your little light saber and defend their honor against all of these people?
Thanks for visiting my page and making my views increase. I now consider you a fan!! Hehe. Bye bye, little viewer 😂😂😂 LOL

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

Beautifully written, thank you for staring what should be obvious but for some odd reason ISN'T. I guess it's good to have an arsenal of friends to back you up, even when they know their buddies' work and team is lacking. Wishing you well 💋

And this is what happens when editing outweigh the vendors photos. A vendor has to show the customer what they will buy, it is true that there are demo, but exceeded by manipulating the picture, it is a mistake. We must maintain a balance between a nice and cozy vendor, showing the essence of the product. I totally disagree with VENDORS retouched. Death to all those who make excessive vendors with photo montage. I went to buy a beard (no demo) and in the photo looked really good (full edition), when I added my beard, seemed ass hairs. .. No comment.

to whomever the anonymous jackoff who said lee is a copybotter it is clear you are a moron. for one no legal viewer lets you do what you did. (sl allows you to see other ppls uuids and save other peoples textures now? amazing) thats clearly a copybot viewer. so how you make an argument on someone stealing when you are stealing is beyond me. secondly the first texture is the correct texture how do i know well i will tell you my god daughter owns a lee head with mod permissions and lo and behold that is the same exact texture it came with the same one. lol you guys are on creator with hunt and its fucked up. you dislike a service or and item express it. but all these other allegations are childish.

Princess i saw some posts about what really happened and to be honest you weren't fair. First don't know if you know but there exist something in sl than u can autorespond just for when u would be off the pc and u still could of talked to her even with the responce. Second i think u just don't know how to use lipsticks or make up on logo. As u need to wear the tattoo/makeup layer and need to install it before u can use the make up as she said. Third i saw that you didn't talk about the poor quality of the headtexture. U didnt tell it to customer service or to the owner himself so how can he fix something when u are the only one who talked about this. You can always think whatever u like but if u would have actually talked about these issues instead of putting them here than maybe it would have ended different for you. And last for finding it such an ugly skin with bad quality u use it alot in your blogposts so don't think your so unhappy about it.

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

Firstly, you're putting words in my mouth. That's not a good idea if you're trying to make a point. Thus, you already lose this argument. At no point in this whole ordeal did I ever say it was an ugly skin. I've praised it again and again for it being beautiful. Just poorly made. Please read a bit more thoroughly next time.
Also, in each person has their own side of this, so you're out of line to say you read "what really happened" because what really happened is what I wrote. As if I'm lying about any part of this. Again, you fail a second time in this argument by accusing me of not reporting what "really happened."
At no time did she use the word "install" while explaining how to apply the lipstick. Maybe had she, I would have had a clue of how to use it.
Again and again, on this post and other posts, I stress the fact that if it's user error, perhaps literature or assistance be given. If they expect every single SLer to know how to use their product with no guidance, they're sorely mistaken.
I stress this repeatedly. For instance the neck line (for the most part. Still has a white line across the neck but I can live with that) was happening because of the neck fix. That was MY error and someone else was kind enough to educate me on that on my Flickr as I was new to Maitreya Lara at the time.
Last, why would I bitch TO them about how shitty the blending was ... Cooper gonna go back in PS and fix it? Doubtful. We can't even get him to handle his own service matters.
So thank you for the install idea, I will try it out next I am on. That suggestion would be the single most reason I even replied to this comment.
Have a swell week!

Anonymous said...

princess i saw the convo also on fb and as u can see she said about the installer if u can reread it.
[2016/02/10 11:14] мelιѕѕα ανιαтιк мσяαиє (melissa Hawks): Hey princess did u also wear the makeup/tattoo layer in ur folder and if u are wearing it i would suggest to click on the omega installer again as it has to install on all layers. If u still have questions pls let me know. Best Regards.

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

Yes, genius. She said click on the Omega installer. Do you think I did not click on the Omega installer? My blog states that I did several times and I told her that I did several times. Being that I already said that I have done that, again, what point are you trying to make?

Anonymous said...

Hey princess did u try to maybe press right click edit on the applier and change the lipstick applier to another place of your screen? i also had this issue it's because when u wear the logo hud it's very big and can overlay the makeup applier. So if u would drag it to another place without other huds it could work.

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

That is a good idea. If I remember correctly, my LOGO HUD is to the far left in my Omega is dead center top. And the lipstick applier was somewhere around the bottom/right. But, I can doublecheck because that has definitely happened with my Catwa HUD several times. I'm all rapid clicking and nothing is working and I realize my giant Catwa HUD blocking everything else LOL. I am at work right now but I can certainly try that when I get back home. Thanks for the suggestion :-)

Anonymous said...

I am stealing? That is not my flickr lol nor am I even a creator. But as I said, people are using the fact that the person who outed her is a botter, as a cheap justification for Lee doing the exact same, as clearly proven in those images and gif. Also it is quite ironic you called me the moron when you clearly misread everything I commented.

Anonymous said...

Last time I checked, Lee was not the founder of the body co aka the shops as the watermark on the template shown in the images clearly displays. You are merely defensive due to the fact you like the products she creates, but It's clear her products are ill-gotten if you will. How else do you explain the watermarks left on the template?

Anonymous said...

WELL ALL I CAN SAY ON THIS, IS I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE NECK WITH OTHER SKINS. IF YOU ARE USING MAITREYA, THERE IS A BUTTON ON THE HUD THAT WILL BLEND THE NECK PROPERLY. BUT IF YOURE USING A MESH HEAD, NOT SURE IT WILL WORK OR NOT. JUST THROWING THAT OUT THERE. SORRY FOR YOUR BAD EXPERIENCE THOUGH.

PrincessAndrea Usbourne said...

Hi. Yes I did the neck fix and that was the ticket!! Thanks you for the suggestion 😀❤️

Anonymous said...

I've never had a problem with the skins I buy from L'etre

Anonymous said...

That's funny...I have the demo on now. I also got the demo for the body applier, put on the right skin to match and I don't have a funky line around the neck. It would help if you wore the body applier that goes with the head applier. This is just a petty review of a product because the cs managed to "offend" your delicate sensibilities.
